Mission America Connection PDF Print E-mail

Welcome Mission America visitors!

A common fact of our day is that multiple hundreds of people groups have migrated to our shores and settled in every major city of America. In addition to that, approximately 10,000 people groups still need cross-cultural church planters to come and establish indigenous church-planting movements among them.

With these realities in mind,
Go Connect recently discussed with Mission America's Director, Paul Cedar and John Quam, MAC's National Facilitator of Global Ministries, how we can connect
MAC members with needed resources for reaching the peoples God has brought to America's cities, as well as the remaining unreached peoples beyond our borders!

Below are two sets of guidelines and resource links focused on these two spheres of obligation and opportunity.

BLESSING THE NATIONS IN OUR CITIES

The following are suggested steps for church planting among immigrant peoples in your city:

PRAYER: ASK GOD TO GIVE YOUR TEAM ...
  • A heart to pray, knowledge of how to pray and perseverence in prayer
  • Guidance in discovering the peoples of your city
  • Insight into which people He would have you to reach with the gospel.
  • Connections with others who are engaging this people somewhere else.
  • Awakened hearts, willingness to prepare for outreach and love for your particular people group.
  • A strong prayer covering from the rest of the congregation
  • A godly outreach and church-planting team with a synergistic blend of giftings
  • Open hearts among your people group, that they would be drawn to Christ and that a viable, indigenous church would be planted among them.

MOBILIZE THE CHURCH:

  • Train in how to advocate for your people group. Click here.
  • Connect your members with vision-casting and vision-building literature and training opportunities (After studying yourself, use the best articles and books you've read to pass on to others).

ENGAGE:

  • By the grace of God, and combining persistent, faith-filled prayer with diligent training, team building and research, God will eventually bring together the key factors and providential connections you need to discover, engage and walk out a fruitful church plant.

ABOVE ALL ...

  • Keep praying with vigilence and watchfulness for the enemy will never cease to look for ways to derail or halt your progress. Click here for Go Connect's listings of excellent articles, books and training on prayer.
