This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven..." (Matthew 6:9-10).
What would your workplace look like if this prayer were answered today where you work?
"Transformation" is a powerful word. Just hearing it, you almost automatically think of radical conversions and incredible change. But is it possible to transform your workplace into something Christ-like? Jesus thinks so.
One example involves a story told in Ed Silvoso's book, Anointed for Business, about a Filipino business man who owned a hotel chain. God saved this man and began an amazing transformation in his life and his large scale hotel.
Our mission is to connect people in community together through meeting needs for the purpose of transforming lives and communities.
The Neighbor Linkup Process
Our volunteers come from all sectors of the community, some are from area churches, some are from local agencies, some are from schools. We connect those in need with resources of the community. We are a connecting point for the most vulnerable in our city, mostly single parents, lower income working families, or the elderly.
Our website, www.neighborlinkup.com, is available 24-7. We will do our best to speak with you when a need is raised, but you can also leave a messages and our volunteers will return your call during hours of operation.
The Process
We receive requests for help via our website or telephone from churches, pastors, agencies, organizations, individuals and families in need. Anyone may call 211 Info to request help or request resources.
The need is reviewed by our Intake Volunteers or staff at Go Connect.
The Coordinator:
Examines the need and expense of the client’s need.
Determines what help the client will need and what help they have received, if any.
Ensures the need is manageable and specific by a local resource coach.
Referral -- After the client’s needs are analyzed and verified, they are added to the website database and placed appropriate help: Clients requiring urgent or highly specialized help are referred to appropriate agencies. These types of referrals could include medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, legal, or other services. Clients requiring specific help on projects will be connected with volunteers through our website.
Service --The client is helped by a volunteer from the local community and the need is met.
Follow-up -- Neighbor Linkup follows-up with the client and volunteer or ministry that provided the assistance. A visit from a local pastor or church volunteer is also offered.

Compassion Vancouver Now Serves West And East
We are proud to bring Compassion Vancouver to the east side of Vancouver. It will be held at Mill Plain Elementary on September 24th from 9am to 3pm.
Over 15 churches, businesses, and other organziations have joined together to provide FREE medical and dental services along with a meal and other valuable social services. For more information and to volunteer, check out www.compassionvancouver.com.
Last year on the West side, over 350 families were helped with roughly 125 of those who wanted to be followed up with and helped with various services. This whole event is all about relationships. We are inviting the volunteer community to take the next step and invite a guest family over for dinner to create a deeper connectedness.
More Than An Oil Change
On July 2nd and 16th, we were able to work with 2 churches in the Vancouver area, Living Water and Cascade Park Baptist Church. Each church hosted a service day designed to provide vital services for automobiles owned by single moms in the area. In total over 50 families were helped.
As I spoke with women receiving the service to their cars, I asked them what this meant to them. One dear woman started to cry on my shoulder as she expressed her heartfelt appreciation. Being that this was provided before the holiday season, it meant even more.
If you or your church would like to host an outreach like this one, please let me know and we can help you organize the event and mobilize the church to volunteer to reach out to women in your community. As with any outreach, the focus is on the relationships formed, not simply making ourself feel good with the great service we provide. This is a perfect way to serve and form relationships with those in need in the community. Call us for more information, 360-433-5179.
